This role involves creating high-quality STEM training data for frontier AI models. You will design rigorous, deterministic physics problems that test deep reasoning rather than memorization, ensuring each has a single verifiable answer.

The work supports leading AI labs by improving model performance in technical domains through precise problem design and complete solution documentation.

What you'll do

  • Design advanced physics problems for AI training and evaluation
  • Create deterministic tasks with exactly one correct answer
  • Write complete, verified solutions with clear reasoning
  • Develop problems requiring multi-step physical analysis
  • Use Python to build simulations or computational workflows
  • Ensure all outputs are technically precise and reproducible

What you'll need

  • Master’s or PhD in Physics or related field
  • Strong experience in theoretical or computational physics
  • Proficient in Python and scientific libraries like NumPy
  • Solid understanding of numerical methods and modeling
  • Ability to design original, difficult physics problems
  • Excellent technical writing skills in English

Nice to have

  • Experience with finite element or circuit simulation tools
  • Background in quantum mechanics or statistical mechanics
  • Experience evaluating AI model reasoning or benchmarking

Stack

  • Python
  • NumPy
  • SciPy

How you'll work

  • Fully remote position
  • 20 to 40 hours per week
  • Initial 2-month contract duration
  • Potential for extension based on performance
