You will lead the platform team responsible for the foundation of Helius products, including bare metal infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and engineering security. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will establish reliability as a core discipline through SLOs, incident management, and automation.
This hands-on leadership position requires setting technical direction while remaining close to the systems. You will mentor engineers, define operating norms for a remote team, and collaborate with product groups to ensure platform capabilities accelerate rather than hinder development.
What you'll do
- Define platform roadmap covering bare metal, deployments, observability, and security
- Establish SRE practices including SLOs, alerting standards, and blameless postmortems
- Migrate observability stack from Datadog to ClickHouse and Grafana
- Standardize build and deployment processes for speed and consistency
- Collaborate with security leadership on engineering security initiatives
- Manage fleet strategy, capacity planning, and provider relationships
- Hire, mentor, and grow the platform engineering team
- Partner with product engineering teams to remove bottlenecks
What you'll need
- 8+ years in infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering
- Experience as a tech lead or engineering manager
- Deep experience running production infrastructure at scale with bare metal
- Proven track record of building SRE practices and incident management culture
- Strong expertise in metrics, logs, tracing, and observability stack design
- Solid fundamentals in Linux, networking, and distributed systems
- Strong security knowledge in access control and infrastructure hardening
- Excellent written communication skills for remote async work
Nice to have
- Background in high-scale B2B infrastructure or edge platforms
- Experience with ClickHouse or high-volume observability backends
- Knowledge of blockchain node operations
- Proficiency in Rust
- Experience building a platform team from early stages
