Join Supabase as a Platform Security Engineer to strengthen the security posture of its infrastructure and cloud platform. You will work with infrastructure, SRE, and product teams to reduce risk across Kubernetes environments and containerized workloads while enabling developer velocity.
This position requires deep hands-on experience with AWS and Linux security fundamentals. You will design scalable guardrails and secure-by-default patterns to protect systems without creating bottlenecks.
What you'll do
- Identify and reduce security risks across AWS, Kubernetes, and platform infrastructure
- Conduct threat modeling and architecture reviews for infrastructure systems
- Partner with SRE and platform teams to design secure-by-default patterns
- Improve container security including RBAC, secrets, and runtime hardening
- Assess Linux isolation risks such as seccomp, AppArmor, and namespaces
- Strengthen AWS security posture across IAM, networking, and encryption
- Build scalable automation, guardrails, and detection mechanisms
- Prioritize efforts by distinguishing theoretical from material platform risk
What you'll need
- Senior-level experience in platform, cloud, or container security
- Deep practical experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Linux security
- Background in large cloud environments or high-scale infrastructure teams
- Strong understanding of identity, networking, and workload isolation
- Ability to communicate clearly in written, asynchronous environments
- Skill in managing security efforts across complex projects with stakeholders
- Preference for building automation and guardrails over rigid processes
