Join the team as a Senior Silicon Power and Thermal Controllers Engineer to design and productize power-performance mechanisms for GPUs, CPUs, and SoCs. You will work at the seam where silicon, firmware, platform, and software meet, ensuring products sustain performance within thermal and power envelopes.
What you'll do
- Design and tune silicon power and thermal controllers with firmware and hardware teams
- Debug power-limiting constraints and deliver product-specific customizations
- Optimize system-level power across silicon, platform, and software layers
- Partner with tools teams to refine modeling and analysis methodologies
- Validate power and thermal features from bring-up through production silicon
- Translate complex technical signals into clear options for executive leadership
What you'll need
- BS or MS in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering or equivalent experience
- 6+ years implementing power and thermal controllers in firmware for SoC products
- Experience with silicon bring-up, DVFS, and perf-per-watt optimization
- Background in thermal policies and data-analysis workflows
- Understanding of digital design, circuit analysis, and transistor physics
- Experience working with globally distributed and offshore engineering teams
- Strong communication skills to present complex data to leadership
Nice to have
- Background in gaming, automotive, or datacenter market segments
- Track record of shipping features that improved perf-per-watt at scale
- Proficiency with AI productivity tools like Claude or Copilot for debug
- Comfort navigating ambiguity in fast-moving silicon programs
