You will join the software engineering division to solve complex distributed systems problems and own services from design through production. Working with engineers, product managers, and operators, you will deliver secure and scalable cloud services that customers rely on daily.
The role requires designing backend services and workflow orchestration capabilities for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. You will contribute to architecture discussions, make pragmatic technical decisions, and build systems that are simple to operate and easy to evolve.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, test, and operate production-grade cloud services
- Build large-scale distributed systems with clear APIs and high availability
- Develop scalable workflows for orchestration and lifecycle management
- Improve service reliability, observability, performance, and security
- Reason about concurrency, state management, and failure recovery
- Participate in design, code, and operational readiness reviews
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive long-term fixes
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership
What you'll need
- Strong experience in backend services or distributed systems
- Proficiency in Java, Python, or similar modern languages
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and concurrency
- Experience designing APIs and asynchronous workflows
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, and CI/CD
- Ability to reason about reliability, latency, and scalability trade-offs
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
