As a Principal Software Engineer at BJAK, you will own the technical design and execution for major products and systems. You will work hands-on to build scalable solutions, drive architecture decisions, and raise engineering standards while collaborating with a distributed international team.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and initiatives
- Design scalable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product problems into clear technical plans
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical initiatives
- Improve system design, testing, security, and observability practices
What you'll need
- 7+ years of experience building and shipping production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Strong skills in system design and architecture for high-scale systems
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding and prototyping
- Track record of leading major engineering projects to production
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration

- Experience scaling engineering teams or systems during growth
- Background operating across multiple products or countries
