As a Principal Software Engineer at BJAK, you will own the technical execution for major products and systems. You will design scalable architectures, write code, and drive engineering initiatives from concept to production while raising the overall engineering bar.
This position requires strong system design skills and the ability to translate ambiguous product challenges into clear technical solutions. You will collaborate with distributed teams to ensure reliability, security, and maintainability across backend, frontend, and infrastructure layers.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and engineering initiatives
- Design scalable and reliable systems across backend, frontend, and infrastructure
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, cost, and maintainability
- Translate ambiguous product problems into clear technical solutions and plans
- Mentor engineers and lead technically critical initiatives across teams
- Improve engineering quality through better testing, security, and observability
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of experience building and shipping production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure
- Strong system design and architecture skills for high-scale environments
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding and prototyping
- Track record of leading major engineering projects from design to production
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
