Doit is reinventing personal finance through AI-driven tools for spending, saving, and investing. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will own the technical execution for major systems, designing scalable solutions while remaining hands-on with code and architecture.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and engineering initiatives
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, database, and infrastructure systems
- Write code, prototype, review peers, and solve production problems
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, and cost
- Translate ambiguous product needs into clear technical plans
- Mentor engineers and raise standards for testing and security
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of experience shipping production software systems
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infra
- Strong skills in system design and architecture for high-scale apps
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding tasks
- Track record of leading major projects from design to production
- Ability to make technical trade-offs and influence engineering teams
Nice to have
- Experience scaling teams or systems during significant growth phases
- Background working across multiple products, markets, or countries
