You will own architecture across multiple product areas, designing systems capable of scaling significantly without rewrites. The role requires hands-on coding to solve complex problems, mentoring engineers, and implementing agentic development practices to improve team output and quality.
Key challenges include ensuring AI safety for patient-facing voice and SMS agents, automating prior authorizations within Epic workflows, and managing the migration to a target-state architecture that supports hundreds of health systems.
What you'll do
- Own architecture across product areas and design scalable systems
- Build initial versions of solutions for the company's hardest problems
- Mentor engineers and lead cross-team projects to improve build processes
- Implement agentic dev practices to enhance shipping speed and quality
- Design safe AI agents for voice and SMS with robust guardrails
- Manage deep EHR integrations including Epic queues and compliance
- Execute the first mile of migration to target-state architecture
What you'll need
- Recent hands-on experience building serious systems with deep detail knowledge
- Staff+ level experience with impactful architectural decisions
- Production experience with LLMs including agents, tool use, and evals
- Preference for simplicity, such as well-structured monoliths over complex microservices
- Background in high-stakes environments like healthcare, fintech, or fraud prevention
- Ability to identify and solve high-leverage problems independently
