As a Principal Engineer, you will own the engineering layer that turns AI capabilities into a robust product. You will shape architecture across services and clients while leading a small team of senior engineers.
What you'll do
- Own application engineering strategy across backend, mobile, and desktop platforms
- Design reliable systems for AI workflows including state and failure handling
- Build APIs connecting AI systems to real-world product experiences
- Lead a small senior team through design reviews and mentorship
- Balance trade-offs across latency, cost, security, and user experience
- Establish production foundations like observability and monitoring
- Partner with ML leadership to ship robust product features
What you'll need
- Significant experience leading engineering for complex systems
- Strong background building and shipping backend systems in production
- Experience building AI-powered products or integrating LLM capabilities
- Ability to make technical decisions with incomplete information
- Deep expertise in backend or client platforms
- High standards for code quality and engineering fundamentals
- Bias toward ownership and learning from real-world usage
