Join Fama as a Product Consultant to help shape the next generation of AI-based screening products. You will collaborate with internal product managers, offering an operator's perspective to challenge assumptions and refine problem definitions. This role focuses on providing strategic insights rather than managing delivery or roadmaps.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with product managers to define new initiatives and provide candid feedback
- Offer an operator's viewpoint on background screening workflows and costs
- Identify compliance and workflow constraints that designs must respect
- Review requirements, specifications, and prototypes as an industry expert
- Explain how screening firms and customers evaluate and purchase technology
What you'll need
- Significant experience in the background screening industry
- Experience managing case fulfillment, review, escalation, or disputes
- Practical knowledge of FCRA compliance and state/local regulations
- Ability to break down complex operational realities into structured parts
- Grounded perspective on AI product design with a critical mindset
Nice to have
- Current or recent experience in screening operations leadership or compliance
- Direct responsibility for a screening operations or QA team
- Broad understanding of various screening check types
- Involvement with PBSA or comparable industry organizations
- Previous consulting or advisory experience
How you'll work
- Fully remote position open to applicants in the United States
- Independent Contractor (1099) engagement
- 10 to 15 hours per week commitment
- Some overlap during Pacific business hours required
- Initial 90-day contract with potential for extension
