You will design Aphex Diary, focusing on mobile experiences for site managers and foremen who work outdoors with gloves and patchy connectivity. The goal is to create low-friction capture tools that connect daily records to live project plans.
The role also covers web surfaces for reviewing and reporting on site data. You will collaborate with product managers and developers to ensure design feasibility and consistency across platforms.
What you'll do
- Take mobile features from briefing to shipped UI
- Design interaction patterns for field conditions like rain or gloves
- Handle constraints such as offline modes and shared devices
- Collaborate with developers to ensure implementation matches design
- Own web surfaces for reviewing and reporting site records
- Contribute to and grow the Aphex design system
- Scope features with PMs and review builds before release
- Visit construction sites to observe user behavior
What you'll need
- 4+ years of product design experience shipping daily-use tools
- Strong understanding of mobile flows, states, and edge cases
- Ability to design for touch, offline usage, and small screens
- Attention to detail in transitions, empty states, and micro-interactions
- Capability to manage exploration, detailed design, and QA
- Clear written communication skills for remote collaboration
- Willingness to discuss technical feasibility early in the process
Nice to have
- Experience designing for field workers or industrial users
- Background in construction tech or vertical SaaS
- Experience working with or building design systems
How you'll work
