As a Staff Product Designer at Andela, you will tackle ambiguous product challenges by blending high-level business strategy with deep user empathy. You will define the logic and standards for the design team while overseeing the evolution of the component library for the Andela Talent Cloud platform.
This leadership position requires acting as a peer to Product and Engineering to align user-centric opportunities with commercial goals. You will serve as a player-coach, engaging in strategic planning while maintaining hands-on involvement in detailed design work and mentorship.
What you'll do
- Lead design of complex multi-sided marketplace flows for the Talent Cloud
- Define product roadmap opportunities alongside Product and Engineering peers
- Oversee design system evolution to ensure accessibility and consistency
- Validate hypotheses using qualitative research and quantitative data analysis
- Elevate team output through rigorous design reviews and workshops
- Mentor Senior Designers and lead high-level design critiques
What you'll need
- 10+ years in Product Design with B2B, SaaS, or Marketplace focus
- 3+ years experience in marketplace or multi-sided network business models
- 2+ years managing or mentoring direct reports
- Expert-level Figma skills including prototyping and library management
- Proficiency in React.js, TypeScript, and CSS-in-JS or Tailwind
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in remote organizations
