You will drive the evolution of Astra's platform layer, including APIs, developer tools, and foundational infrastructure. Working with engineering and leadership, you will shape how customers interact with the system, configure money movement, and build complex payment workflows without custom engineering.
What you'll do
- Define API contract philosophy, versioning, and deprecation policies
- Write detailed platform specs for engineering implementation
- Shape roadmap balancing foundational investments and customer features
- Conduct technical discovery with sophisticated customers
- Partner with engineering to review API design and quality
- Translate customer pain points into platform requirements
- Drive developer experience roadmap with docs and DevRel teams
- Represent platform strategy in customer and partnership discussions
What you'll need
- 6+ years product management experience
- 3+ years building developer-facing platform or API products
- Deep expertise in REST, webhooks, and event-driven architecture
- Experience owning platform roadmap across auth and observability
- Understanding of infrastructure lock-in via developer experience
- Ability to reason about systems-level tradeoffs
- Track record as principal-level IC influencing without authority
- Exceptional written communication for technical contracts
- Willingness to travel up to 15% annually
Nice to have
- Experience at BaaS, payments infrastructure, or dev tools company
- Familiarity with control plane and data plane architecture patterns
- Background in workflow or rules-engine product design
- Exposure to agentic AI use cases in payment infrastructure
