Join Vultr as a Provisioning Engineer to drive the activation of thousands of new servers through 2026. You will build repeatable automated provisioning systems that support bare metal, GPU, and high-performance cloud services.
This highly visible role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver at scale during peak onboarding periods. You will collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Hardware teams to ensure smooth server handoffs and lifecycle management.
What you'll do
- Execute end-to-end server onboarding including imaging and firmware updates
- Provision new servers efficiently in response to capacity management needs
- Perform post-onboard validation and handoff to the Platform team
- Build and improve automation scripts and provisioning pipelines
- Track onboarding metrics to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements
- Support server repurposing and migration activities
- Maintain detailed documentation and runbooks for provisioning workflows
- Collaborate with Hardware team for physical coordination during onboarding
What you'll need
- 4+ years in Linux systems administration or infrastructure operations
- Strong Bash scripting skills for building automation tools
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet
- Solid understanding of Linux networking, storage, and boot processes
- Comfortable working in high-volume deployment environments
- Strong organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

How you'll work
- Fully remote position
- $500 stipend for remote office setup in first year
