We are seeking a hands-on Senior Cloud Computing Systems Engineer to provide advanced technical support for cloud infrastructure resources in Microsoft Azure. You will mentor partnering teams and developers to ensure high system availability and deliver automated deployments via code and pipelines.
The role requires close collaboration with Software Engineering, Data Services, and Solutions Architects to define requirements for application configuration, testing, and deployment. You will drive the technical direction for cloud platforms to meet business objectives and regulatory compliance standards.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute strategy for Azure Cloud Engineering initiatives
- Implement standards and best practices for cloud solutions
- Provision infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform
- Leverage automation to monitor and orchestrate client environments
- Implement DevOps toolchains and Standard Operating Environments
- Conduct business needs assessments to support requirements
- Manage patches and updates to address vulnerabilities
- Research emerging technologies to improve cost effectiveness
- Work with Kubernetes, Docker, and container technologies
- Deploy Azure PaaS services including AKS and AppService
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of professional experience
- 5+ years as an Azure cloud engineer supporting PaaS and networks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with IaC and PaaS services is essential
- Terraform experience is a mandatory requirement
- Solid understanding of the Azure public cloud platform
- Knowledge of software development life cycle and web technologies
- Proficiency in CI/CD, DevOps, and API first strategies
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
- Knowledge of infrastructure management in cloud environments
Nice to have
- Focused experience with Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service
- Azure certification is highly desired
- AKS certification (CKAD) is preferred
- Experience with HCI and Azure stack
