Runway is building AI systems that simulate reality to accelerate progress in robotics, science, and creative tools. This role centers on owning the data behind these world models, ensuring they learn from rich, varied inputs similar to human experience.
You will work at the intersection of data curation and model training, designing multimodal datasets and evaluating how data composition drives performance. The team aims to create general-purpose simulations that change how stories are told and scientific discoveries are made.
What you'll do
- Design multimodal datasets to teach world models new capabilities
- Run controlled training experiments to analyze data impact
- Build pipelines for synthetic data generation and quality control
- Define benchmarks to measure model improvement on key tasks
- Collaborate with product teams on data strategies
What you'll need
- 4+ years of experience in machine learning
- Experience with large multimodal datasets and generative models
- Strong intuition for data quality and model capabilities
- Proficiency with PyTorch, JAX, or similar ML frameworks
- Experience with distributed compute tools like Ray or Kubernetes
