Join Pluralis Research to solve the challenges of Protocol Learning, where large models are trained and served across decentralized consumer devices. You will build the systems that keep inference fast and reliable despite high latency, node churn, and untrusted hardware.
This position focuses on creating novel methods for pipeline-parallel execution and routing over the public internet. Your work will support reinforcement learning training rollouts now and serve as the production serving layer for future models.
What you'll do
- Own the inference stack end-to-end, including placement and routing
- Design and validate new algorithms for low-bandwidth inference
- Implement pipeline-parallel execution and failure handling
- Ensure reliability for RL training rollouts and model serving
- Set technical direction for distributed serving systems
What you'll need
- Experience shipping serving-engine internals or large-scale inference
- Publications or demonstrable work in distributed inference
- Expertise in low-bandwidth, high-latency network settings
- Professional-level written and spoken English proficiency
- Alignment with decentralized and trustless AI missions
Nice to have
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning post-training
- Exposure to Apple silicon or MLX frameworks
- Experience with P2P networking and NAT traversal
- Background in proprietary or open-source AI labs
