Join Deepgram's Research Staff to tackle fundamental challenges in voice AI. You will design and build an industrial data factory, developing advanced characterization techniques for complex conversational audio. This position requires pioneering new approaches to data acquisition, synthesis, and benchmarking to power next-generation speech models.
What you'll do
- Drive high-performance data acquisition, preparation, and synthesis pipelines
- Develop advanced characterizations of conversational audio using signal processing
- Collaborate with engineering to automate human annotation and feedback loops
- Build benchmarking methodologies and curated datasets for voice systems
- Document and present data experiment results to internal and external audiences
What you'll need
- Experience building data processing pipelines from scratch end-to-end
- Expertise in applying statistical methods and deep learning to complex data
- Strong communication skills to translate complex concepts clearly
- Proficiency in Python with emphasis on clean, modular code
- Hands-on experience working with PyTorch
Nice to have
- Background in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Language Processing
- Prior experience building machine learning models
- Specific experience with speech and audio data
