You will join Eight Sleep as a generalist Security Engineer, taking ownership of the security program from day one. Working alongside the Head of Security and various engineering teams, you will handle corporate IT, identity management, cloud security, and AI safety initiatives. The position requires an AI-first mindset to automate processes and scale security efforts effectively.
What you'll do
- Manage Google Workspace, device administration, and SaaS access lifecycles
- Automate compliance evidence collection and extend Vanta with custom tests
- Remediate infrastructure-level failing tests to maintain compliance status
- Handle vulnerability and endpoint management for the corporate fleet
- Build processes for secure and ethical AI use to reduce shadow IT
- Triage inbound security requests and lead incident response efforts
- Conduct security reviews of internal tools and document findings clearly
What you'll need
- At least four years in security or IT engineering roles
- Experience working on small teams with broad ownership responsibilities
- Proficiency operating SIEM tools like Datadog, Panther, Splunk, or Elastic
- Strong knowledge of corporate IT including Google Workspace and MDM
- Ability to write clear documentation for engineers, auditors, and executives
- Scripting skills in Python or similar languages
- Adoption of an AI-first mindset to leverage tools for scaling work
Nice to have
- Experience owning Vanta or Drata through SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA audits
- Background in regulated industries or health-adjacent environments
- Practical incident response experience beyond tabletop exercises
