Tempo is building a layer-1 blockchain optimized for stablecoins and real-world payments, backed by expertise from Stripe and Paradigm. As a Security Engineer, you will join an internal Red Team dedicated to continuously breaking the protocol to secure it. You will simulate economic attacks, dissect EVM execution, and develop custom tooling to protect high-volume payment flows.

What you'll do

  • Hunt for vulnerabilities in the protocol, consensus engine, and bridge architecture
  • Treat mainnet operations as a continuous capture-the-flag challenge
  • Design and implement security automation tools with the Foundry team
  • Review critical architecture across the codebase with engineering teams
  • Analyze game-theoretic risks like MEV and staking dynamics to prevent exploits

What you'll need

  • Fluency in reading and writing production-level systems code, preferably Rust
  • Deep expertise in EVM internals including opcodes, storage, and gas metering
  • Proven track record in offensive security via CTFs or bug bounties
  • Experience building custom security automation rather than using off-the-shelf scanners
  • Up-to-date knowledge of recent blockchain hacks and mitigation strategies
