Join Kong's IT team as part of a new capability focused on integrating AI directly into business functions. You will work hands-on with various departments to build tools that solve real problems, automate workflows, and help employees develop independent AI skills.
This position offers autonomy to prioritize high-value initiatives and requires translating technical AI concepts into practical applications for non-technical stakeholders. You will establish frameworks for tracking adoption and ensure solutions are reusable across the organization.
What you'll do
- Analyze business team processes to identify pain points and high-priority outputs
- Build AI-powered workflows and custom tools to eliminate bottlenecks
- Coach team members through one-on-one sessions to build independent AI skills
- Adapt successful solutions for reuse across different organizational units
- Track AI adoption progress and report findings to IT leadership regularly
- Create documentation standards for tools, workflows, and lessons learned
- Collaborate with IT, Security, and Engineering on internal AI governance
- Mentor junior team members and interns with hands-on guidance
What you'll need
- 5+ years in technical or cross-functional roles solving problems across teams
- Proven track record of building AI tools or automations that improved workflows
- Experience teaching technical skills via coaching or training programs
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and self-directing without detailed roadmaps
- Background in IT organizations or supporting business operations across functions
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with Claude, MCPs, LLM APIs, or agent frameworks
- Background in change management or large-scale organizational rollouts
- Experience in consulting or client-facing technical roles
- Familiarity with Okta, Slack, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Jira, or Freshservice
- Knowledge of Kong Konnect, Kong Gateway, or API management concepts
