Join Supernal as a Senior AI Platform Engineer, internally known as a Mason, to deliver working AI employees rather than just tools. You will build the core software foundations, including backend services and conversational agents, that power real business environments.
This hands-on position requires owning end-to-end technical delivery for client implementations. You will translate requirements into robust systems, manage architectural tradeoffs, and ensure reliable performance in production while raising engineering standards.
What you'll do
- Build backend services, data models, and CRUD apps using code and proprietary platforms
- Design and deploy conversational agents with multi-turn flows and state management
- Create reliable integrations with external APIs, webhooks, and third-party tools
- Own end-to-end technical delivery from architecture design to production launch
- Handle voice system challenges like latency, interruptions, and error recovery
- Write unit and end-to-end tests to validate system logic and user journeys
- Debug complex production issues across agent logic, prompts, and dependencies
- Define and document best practices for building reliable AI employees
What you'll need
- 4+ years of experience shipping production systems as a software or automation engineer
- Deep understanding of multi-turn conversation design and context management
- Experience deploying voice agents on platforms like ElevenLabs, Retell, or Nextiva
- Proficiency in LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, and RAG design
- Strong skills in error handling, retry strategies, and clean interface design
- Ability to own delivery outcomes, including timelines and client success
- Fluent English communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Willingness to work in Americas time zones with own computer and internet
