Join Blooming Health to design and ship AI features that power real-time conversational voice experiences. You will work on orchestration layers, agent workflows, and system handoffs to help users navigate social care resources effectively.
Collaborating with engineering and product teams, you will address challenges in latency, interruption handling, and conversation design while ensuring high software quality and reliable production deployments.
What you'll do
- Design and build voice AI systems for real-time conversational user experiences
- Develop AI orchestration layers including agent workflows and state management
- Architect workflows across speech-to-text, LLM reasoning, and text-to-speech
- Handle ambiguity, interruptions, and edge cases in voice interactions
- Write clean, tested Python code for APIs, services, and orchestration
- Build data pipelines to capture and transform insights from user interactions
- Partner on technical direction for voice-based AI product deployment
What you'll need
- Hands-on experience shipping voice AI or real-time conversational systems
- Experience with speech-to-text, text-to-speech, or streaming audio pipelines
- Understanding of voice challenges like latency, barge-in, and turn-taking
- Experience integrating voice infrastructure such as Twilio or WebRTC
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs like OpenAI or Anthropic
- Strong prompt engineering skills and understanding of production tradeoffs
- Proficiency in async Python using frameworks like asyncio and httpx
- Strong SQL skills, ideally with PostgreSQL, and ETL pipeline experience
Nice to have
- Experience with multi-agent systems, tool use, and function calling
- Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, and retrieval systems
- Experience improving reliability and observability in production AI
- Streaming data experience with Kafka or event-driven systems
- Knowledge of orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster
- Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare data privacy considerations
