Magical builds an agentic AI platform that deploys AI employees to handle repetitive workflows. As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you will design custom agent solutions for customers and bridge the gap between client needs and product engineering.
You will work in high-stakes environments like healthcare, ensuring reliability while shaping the internal playbook for future deployments. This is an early-stage role for someone who thrives in chaos and wants to define processes rather than follow them.
What you'll do
- Design and orchestrate agentic workflows using prompting and the multi-agent platform
- Extend platform capabilities to solve specific customer challenges
- Act as technical liaison between customers and internal product teams
- Translate real-world feedback into concrete platform improvements
- Diagnose and resolve deployment, integration, and performance issues
- Ensure system reliability in critical sectors like healthcare
- Build tools, documentation, and reference implementations for scale
What you'll need
- 5+ years in engineering, QA, solutions engineering, or similar technical field
- Strong curiosity about AI prompting, multi-agent systems, and automation
- Self-starter with strong agency and ability to unblock independently
- Comfortable working in early-stage, ambiguous environments
- Background in science or engineering (degree not strictly required)
- Located in SF/Toronto or willing to relocate

- Fast learner with strong technical fundamentals
