Join the product engineering team at Brightwheel, a leading vertical SaaS platform for early education. You will help extend the platform into a system of action by building software that anticipates work and automates tasks for school leaders and teachers. The role focuses on turning ambiguous customer problems into shipped features with measurable impact.
What you'll do
- Own problems from discovery through launch, measurement, and iteration
- Use AI to improve engineering velocity and product capabilities
- Prototype quickly to validate assumptions and create clarity
- Build customer-facing workflows across core product areas
- Partner with product and design teams to ship impactful software
- Ensure high standards for quality, security, privacy, and reliability
What you'll need
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in systems, data, APIs, and infrastructure
- Experience owning production work from definition to launch
- Regular use of AI tools and agents in engineering workflow
- Ability to automate personal or team workflows effectively
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and defining success metrics
- Clear communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Nice to have
- Experience shipping AI-powered products or internal tools
- Knowledge of retrieval, orchestration, or agent workflows
- Background in vertical SaaS, education, or operations-heavy domains
- Portfolio of personal projects, open-source work, or demos
- Experience improving web or mobile outcomes via architecture
