You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of Azure platforms, from initial design in empty subscriptions to ongoing maintenance and security. The role requires deep expertise in Azure networking and Terraform, with a focus on making safe architectural decisions for diverse client environments.
Working directly with client DevOps engineers, you will provide guidance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable delivery pipelines. This position demands strong communication skills and the ability to manage risk during live platform migrations.
What you'll do
- Build new platforms from scratch including network, compute, and data layers
- Make architectural decisions regarding Terraform updates and replacements
- Execute high-risk migrations with detailed runbooks and rollback plans
- Maintain platform health through provider upgrades and drift management
- Advise client DevOps engineers and troubleshoot deployment failures
What you'll need
- Proven experience building and running production Azure environments
- Deep knowledge of Azure networking including VNets, private endpoints, and WAF
- Expertise in Terraform state management, workspaces, and imports
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub
- Proficiency with Azure data services like Postgres, Redis, and Blob storage
- Strong understanding of Entra ID, RBAC, and service principals
- Ability to write clear documentation and runbooks for clients
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Nice to have
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-305
- Experience with Temporal or similar workflow runtimes
- Scripting skills in Bash or Python
- Previous experience in consulting or client-embedded roles
