Join the Enterprise API and Platform API Team to evolve CreatorIQ's backend systems. You will extract components from a large PHP monolith, design robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and ensure high code quality through testing and critical review of AI-generated code.
What you'll do
- Extract PHP monolith code into modular, service-oriented components
- Design and maintain scalable backend services in PHP and Node.js
- Build robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs for platform integration
- Lead refactoring efforts to improve performance and readability
- Deploy and operate services on AWS using Lambda and API Gateway
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability
- Critically review and refine AI-generated code for quality
- Communicate technical decisions via writing and video walkthroughs
What you'll need
- 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience
- Expert-level PHP experience with enterprise production systems
- Strong backend development skills using Node.js
- Hands-on experience decomposing monolithic architectures
- Solid background in REST and GraphQL API design
- Experience with AWS, specifically Lambda and serverless patterns
- Proficiency in writing testable code and automated test suites
- Experience using AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Self-directed ability to work in a remote, async-first environment
