This position requires deep systems thinking and technical leadership to solve complex challenges involving external integrations and strict regulatory requirements.
What you'll do
- Architect payment, fraud, and compliance systems handling millions daily
- Coordinate interactions between payments, fraud, and user management
- Lead architecture decisions and establish engineering best practices
- Mentor junior engineers on coding standards and design patterns
- Optimize reliability and performance of distributed microservices
- Collaborate with product and compliance teams on system design
What you'll need
- 5+ years building complex production software systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering required
- Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures
- Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
- Proficiency in Python 3, web frameworks, and APIs
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database design
- Willingness to travel up to 15% annually
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Experience with payment processing or fraud detection
- Knowledge of AML, KYC, or PCI DSS regulations
- Experience integrating financial APIs and money movement systems
- Background in high-scale transaction processing systems
