As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design resilient systems, develop mature APIs, and ensure high code quality through rigorous testing while collaborating with clients and internal teams.
What you'll do
- Build fault-tolerant integrations with poorly documented third-party APIs
- Create sophisticated background processing pipelines
- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices for production use
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests
- Investigate client issues and service disruptions
- Translate requirements into system designs and data models
- Evaluate architectural choices and lower-level design decisions
- Mentor junior to mid-level engineers
What you'll need
- 7+ years of full-time software engineering experience
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
- Strong experience with relational databases and ORM usage
- Deep understanding of Node.js semantics like event loops and streams
- Proven track record integrating with external APIs
- Experience building fault-tolerant, high-performance microservices
- History of scaling applications for rapid growth
Nice to have
- Software engineering experience in Finance or FinTech
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform
