Join SplitMetrics as a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build backend services using Python and FastAPI. You will integrate with internal and external LLM services, build MCP servers for third-party AI agents, and develop ETL pipelines to ensure data quality across the platform.
What you'll do
- Design and build backend services using Python and FastAPI
- Implement async job execution and status tracking with Redis, Celery, or Kafka
- Integrate with internal and external LLM services
- Store, version, and serve creative assets efficiently
- Build and maintain external MCP servers for third-party AI agents
- Develop ETL pipelines and ensure data quality during ingestion and storage
- Ensure system stability, observability, and cost-efficient inference
What you'll need
- 4+ years of Python backend development experience
- Strong experience with FastAPI framework
- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and S3 or equivalent storage
- Experience with async task queues like Celery, Redis, or Kafka
- Production experience with microservices, retries, and failure handling
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI, MCP servers, and LLMs
- Basic skills in logging, monitoring, and alerting
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with frontend and ML
- Experience with AWS infrastructure, Docker, and Kubernetes
Nice to have
- Familiarity with LangChain or agentic workflows
- Background in marketing technology or ad platforms
- Experience with StarRocks or other OLAP databases like Clickhouse
