Join an ETH Zurich spin-off that automates supplier selection and tender management for the European construction industry. You will build the backend infrastructure that powers AI capabilities, working closely with leadership in a small, fast-moving team.
What you'll do
- Own problems end-to-end from user needs to shipped solutions
- Build Python backend services for AI features like document parsing
- Design APIs connecting AI systems with frontends and external platforms
- Develop pipelines to process large volumes of construction data
- Collaborate on code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices
- Explore new AI techniques for real-world procurement challenges
What you'll need
- 4+ years of backend engineering experience with Python
- Strong skills in RESTful API design and implementation
- Production experience with FastAPI or Django
- Solid understanding of databases and query optimization
- Experience with CI/CD and focus on code quality
- Ability to deliver in ambiguous environments without perfect clarity
- Interest in how AI/ML systems behave in production
Nice to have
- Experience with GCP services like Cloud Run or BigQuery
- Background in data-heavy or AI-integrated architectures
- Familiarity with AI developer tools like Cursor or Copilot
- Knowledge of B2B SaaS, construction tech, or procurement
- German language skills
