Serve as the strategic link between Forward-Deployed U.S. teams and the Platform Core Engineering team in Japan. You will align product direction, platform evolution, and field execution by ensuring shared understanding of priorities and constraints.
Reporting to the CTO, you will drive context alignment rather than simple translation. Your work ensures the platform solves high-impact problems and field teams leverage it effectively.
What you'll do
- Act as primary interface between U.S. and Japan teams
- Synthesize ground-level priorities and team sentiment
- Translate intent and trade-offs across regions
- Influence platform roadmap based on field usage
- Manage dependencies and risks across workstreams
- Establish execution cadence across time zones
- Facilitate technical discussions and design reviews
- Improve global collaboration systems and documentation
What you'll need
- Near-native proficiency in English and Japanese
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- 4+ years in U.S.-based engineering roles
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture
- Experience with distributed or cross-border teams
- Ability to convey nuanced technical context
Nice to have
- Experience in platform engineering
- Familiarity with ERP or supply chain systems
- Background in solution architecture
- Experience in startup or high-growth environments
- Familiarity with Go, Rust, or TypeScript
