Join Xero’s Data & AI Governance team to manage data as a strategic asset and ensure responsible AI adoption. You will partner with cross-functional groups to co-design pragmatic governance approaches that address bias, transparency, and explainability. This position moves beyond traditional compliance to provide hands-on enablement services that empower teams to innovate safely.
What you'll do
- Evolve privacy, data, and AI governance frameworks for responsible adoption
- Translate policies into practical, user-friendly guidance for business teams
- Deliver literacy programs and educational resources to uplift internal capability
- Partner with Regulatory, Privacy, and Risk functions to track legislation
- Advise decision-makers on setting governance guardrails for safe experimentation
What you'll need
- Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks and stewardship models
- Hands-on experience in AI governance and ethical challenges at scale
- Technical depth in data architecture, quality, and lineage
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance
- Experience bridging policy concepts with technical implementation
- Familiarity with GDPR, EU AI Act, CCPA, ISO 27001, or SOC2
How you'll work
- Based in Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, or Wellington
- Fully remote available within three hours of AEST
