You will own the architecture, modeling, and ingestion processes for a large-scale data platform. Working with a market research firm, you will turn raw S3 files and event streams into structured core tables and dimensional marts that support business intelligence and advanced analytics.
What you'll do
- Design scalable core tables from raw event data
- Engineer incremental dbt models for billion-row datasets
- Implement identity resolution for merged or duplicate events
- Create fact and dimension marts for BI and data science teams
- Solve complex SQL performance and correctness challenges
- Manage Snowpipe ingestion from Amazon S3 to Snowflake
- Administer Snowflake security, roles, and warehouse configs
- Optimize pipeline costs through clustering and materialization
- Establish data modeling standards and review code
- Produce design documentation and coach engineering teams
What you'll need
- 6+ years in Data Engineering or Architecture
- 3+ years building production solutions with Snowflake
- Expert-level SQL for complex modeling and performance
- Advanced experience with dimensional data modeling
- Proficient in dbt incremental strategies and macros
- Experience with behavioral or event-based data
- Deep knowledge of Snowflake features and cost management
- Working knowledge of AWS S3, IAM, SNS, and SQS
- Ability to read and review Python code
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
