You will own the architecture, modeling, and ingestion processes for a high-volume data platform. Working with a market research firm, you will turn raw S3 files and event streams into structured core tables and dimensional marts that support business intelligence and advanced analytics.
What you'll do
- Design scalable core tables from raw event data into structured datasets
- Engineer incremental dbt models for billion-row tables using merge strategies
- Implement identity-resolution solutions for merged identities and duplicates
- Define fact and dimension marts for BI developers and data scientists
- Solve complex SQL challenges involving performance and semi-structured data
- Manage Snowpipe ingestion from Amazon S3 including schema evolution
- Administer Snowflake environments including RBAC and security policies
- Optimize platform performance and cost through clustering and warehouse sizing
- Establish data-modeling standards and review SQL, dbt, and Python code
What you'll need
- 6+ years in Data Engineering, Architecture, or Analytics Engineering
- 3+ years building production solutions with Snowflake
- Expert-level SQL skills for complex modeling and performance tuning
- Advanced experience with dimensional modeling and slowly changing dimensions
- Proficient in dbt with incremental strategies and billion-row datasets
- Experience with behavioral data, sessionization, and identity resolution
- Deep knowledge of Snowflake features like Snowpipe, tasks, and streams
- Working knowledge of AWS services including S3, IAM, SNS, and SQS
- Ability to read and review Python code effectively
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
