Truelogic is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the design, modeling, and optimization of a Snowflake and dbt data platform. You will transform raw S3 files and event data into core tables and dimensional marts that support analytics and data science teams.
The role requires hands-on engineering of billion-row incremental models, solving complex SQL challenges, and administering Snowflake environments. You will partner with software engineers to establish data contracts and ensure data correctness, performance, and security at scale.
What you'll do
- Design scalable core tables transforming raw event data into structured datasets
- Engineer incremental dbt models for billion-row tables using merge strategies
- Implement identity-resolution solutions for merged identities and late-arriving data
- Design fact and dimension marts for BI developers and data scientists
- Solve complex SQL challenges involving performance and semi-structured data
- Design reliable ingestion from Amazon S3 into Snowflake using Snowpipe
- Partner with engineers to define event-driven delivery patterns and schemas
- Administer Snowflake environments including RBAC and warehouse configuration
- Monitor pipeline stability, load failures, and data freshness
- Optimize Snowflake and dbt performance and cost through clustering and sizing
- Establish data-modeling standards and review complex SQL and Python code
- Produce design documentation and coach engineers and analysts
What you'll need
- 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience building production solutions with Snowflake
- Expert-level SQL skills for complex modeling and performance problems
- Advanced data-modeling experience including dimensional modeling and SCDs
- Advanced dbt experience with incremental strategies and billion-row datasets
- Experience with behavioral or event data including sessionization and duplicates
- Deep Snowflake expertise covering RBAC, Snowpipe, and cost management
- Working knowledge of AWS services including S3, IAM, SNS, and SQS
- Experience designing event-driven data integrations and Parquet formats
