Join Beam's Engineering team to develop the infrastructure that processes over 7TB of data every 90 minutes. You will collaborate with product and engineering peers to deliver actionable analytics for internal stakeholders and external partners, directly supporting the mission to shift billions to high-impact nonprofits.
What you'll do
- Design new data platform solutions via RFCs and tech specs
- Implement high-quality software features with peer collaboration
- Drive work execution from specification through delivery
- Share knowledge through code reviews and pair programming
- Support Client Strategy and Business Operations teams
- Balance technical debt with practical design choices
- Foster a culture of inclusivity and accountability
What you'll need
- 4+ years as Data Engineer or 5+ as Software Engineer
- Proficient in Python and SQL development
- Experience with production-level data systems
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL relational databases
- Experience using Apache Airflow for orchestration
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure and CI/CD
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical roles
Nice to have
- Previous experience in an early-stage startup
- Experience administering Business Intelligence tools
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark
- Experience managing Kubernetes clusters
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
