Join MDCalc’s Engineering team to define how data moves through a platform used by millions of medical professionals. You will design robust pipelines and architecture that enable reliable analytics and product insights across the organization.
Working closely with product and business stakeholders, you will transform complex data into actionable formats. This senior individual contributor role focuses on establishing best practices for data governance, modeling, and system reliability.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain scalable ELT/ETL workflows for analytics and reporting
- Build programmatic data pipelines in Python to extract and transform data
- Own core data models to ensure accuracy and ease of use for stakeholders
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate data needs into solutions
- Shape the architecture of the modern data stack including warehousing and orchestration
- Improve data quality and observability through testing and monitoring
- Establish best practices for data governance, documentation, and naming conventions
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering
- Strong SQL skills with experience optimizing analytical data models
- Proficiency in Python for building programmatic ETL/ELT pipelines
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake
- Familiarity with transformation tools like dbt or orchestration tools like Airflow
- Solid understanding of data architecture and pipeline design best practices
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-moving environment
