Join the Data Science & Engineering team at Wealthsimple, focusing on Growth Data to enhance new user acquisition and net deposits. You will serve as a domain expert for key marketing pillars, using sophisticated algorithms and measurement systems to influence significant marketing spend.
This full-stack position requires balancing algorithm development with strategic business insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners in Growth, Product, and Engineering to scale the customer base through data-driven decision making.
What you'll do
- Build data products and algorithms to optimize marketing budget allocation and targeting
- Design measurement strategies including attribution modeling and incrementality analysis
- Drive marketing strategy via A/B testing, causal inference, and ROI maximization
- Develop and maintain analytics pipelines alongside data engineers
- Conduct exploratory analysis to identify growth opportunities and customer behaviors
- Provide ongoing analytics support through reporting and dashboards for stakeholders
- Leverage AI tooling to handle operational tasks and focus on strategic problems
- Partner with ad platforms and engineering teams to ensure robust data integration
What you'll need
- Strong understanding of digital marketing mechanics, attribution, and ad platforms
- Experience with lifecycle data and holistic customer outreach strategies
- Proficiency in Python and SQL with a track record of production-quality code
- Proven experience in algorithm development and optimization problems
- Solid foundation in causal inference, A/B testing, and experimental design
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ownership of complex projects from end to end as a data DRI
- Comfortable with full-stack data science from dashboards to algorithm development

- Experience at larger-scale tech companies with internal analytics systems
- Ability to contribute to strategic direction with minimal ramp-up time
- Passion for measurement, attribution complexities, and business outcomes
