You will define and execute the partnership strategy for Walrus, focusing on foundation model companies, AI platforms, and data infrastructure providers. Working closely with product and engineering leadership, you will originate opportunities, negotiate agreements, and ensure successful technical integrations.
This senior individual contributor role requires deep engagement with the AI ecosystem and the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value. You will own relationships from initial thesis through implementation, influencing internal teams and external partners alike.
What you'll do
- Develop a clear perspective on where Walrus fits as essential AI infrastructure
- Build relationships with founders and executives at AI and data platform companies
- Lead negotiations for technical integrations, joint products, and commercial deals
- Align internal teams on scope and resources to drive partnership implementation
- Bring market insights to product and engineering discussions to guide strategy
- Establish repeatable processes for partner selection and deal execution
What you'll need
- 10–15+ years in strategic partnerships or business development
- Deep existing relationships within the AI ecosystem
- Proven track record of closing complex, high-value partnerships
- Strong technical fluency to engage engineers on architectures and workflows
- Experience building in startup environments with limited structure
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders without formal authority
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time, including internationally
