As a Senior Decision Scientist at Instructure, you will serve as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, driving meaningful business outcomes through complex analytical initiatives. You will leverage advanced statistical methods and AI tooling to improve product adoption, customer engagement, and revenue growth while mentoring peers and defining best practices.
What you'll do
- Drive business impact by identifying opportunities for product and revenue growth
- Design and execute rigorous A/B tests and causal inference studies
- Partner with product and marketing leaders to translate questions into frameworks
- Own the full lifecycle of analytical initiatives from modeling to deployment
- Leverage AI tooling to elevate standards and throughput across the team
- Mentor data scientists and analysts on methodology and communication
- Translate complex findings into actionable recommendations for executives
What you'll need
- Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, CS, Economics, or related field
- 5–7 years of experience in data science or analytics
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and causal inference
- Deep familiarity with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Glean
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Proficiency in Python or R for analysis and visualization
- Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks
- Ability to lead end-to-end data science initiatives independently
