DDN seeks a senior technical expert to support its largest strategic customers in high-performance data storage. You will take ownership of complex Lustre parallel file system environments, acting as the primary point of contact rather than working through a general queue.
Joining a specialized team of engineers, you will collaborate with product and education groups to drive improvements. The role involves deep technical troubleshooting, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to global support processes.
What you'll do
- Provide advanced technical support for DDN storage solutions in APAC
- Manage strategic accounts within a global follow-the-sun support model
- Serve as senior escalation point for complex incidents
- Troubleshoot Lustre parallel file systems and large-scale storage
- Collaborate with engineering to improve product quality via feedback
- Develop test plans for upgrades and maintenance activities
- Mentor junior support engineers and share knowledge globally
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule for APAC environments
What you'll need
- 7+ years in technical support, systems, or infrastructure engineering
- Strong experience with Linux-based storage or HPC environments
- Extensive experience with Lustre parallel file systems
- Deep understanding of RAID, erasure coding, and distributed storage
- Solid knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, and network troubleshooting
- Excellent customer communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently in a distributed global team
Nice to have
- Experience with Spectrum Scale or StorNext file systems
- Scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Perl
- Familiarity with InfiniBand and high-speed Ethernet
- Knowledge of NAS protocols like NFS, CIFS/SMB, S3, FTP
- Experience with Active Directory or LDAP authentication
