DDN is seeking a Senior Designated Support Engineer to serve as the primary technical expert for its largest global customers. You will take ownership of complex, large-scale Lustre parallel file system environments, building lasting relationships rather than managing a general support queue.
Working alongside deep specialists and collaborating with engineering teams, you will drive product improvements and resolve high-priority incidents. This role involves mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the development of internal troubleshooting tools and processes.
What you'll do
- Provide advanced technical support for DDN storage solutions in APAC environments
- Serve as senior escalation point for complex customer issues and incidents
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Lustre parallel file systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve product quality via feedback
- Develop test plans for system upgrades and maintenance activities
- Mentor junior support engineers and share knowledge globally
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule for APAC customer support
What you'll need
- 7+ years in technical support, systems, or infrastructure engineering
- Strong experience with Linux-based storage or HPC environments
- Extensive experience with Lustre parallel file systems
- Deep understanding of storage platforms and RAID technologies
- Solid knowledge of networking including TCP/IP and routing
- Excellent customer communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently in a distributed global team
Nice to have
- Experience with Spectrum Scale or StorNext file systems
- Scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Perl
- Knowledge of InfiniBand and high-speed Ethernet networks
- Familiarity with NAS protocols like NFS, CIFS/SMB, and S3
- Experience with authentication systems such as Active Directory
