Join 1Password as a Senior Developer Advocate to shape the narrative around securing AI agents and machine identities. You will create hands-on demos, engage with developers on social platforms, and represent the company at major industry events.
Reporting to the Director of Developer Relations, you will drive open source strategy and build a trusted community through authentic engagement and high-quality technical content.
What you'll do
- Create code-first demos and videos showing how to secure AI agents and service accounts
- Manage 1Password's developer presence on Reddit, YouTube, and X through daily engagement
- Speak at major developer conferences such as AWS re:Invent and KubeCon
- Guide open source strategy for SDKs, integrations, and MCP servers
- Write blog posts, tutorials, and reference code for developers to use
- Build and nurture an ongoing developer community beyond one-off interactions
What you'll need
- 5+ years in technical roles like engineering, advocacy, or solutions engineering
- Existing audience and track record on X, YouTube, or Reddit as a technical voice
- Hands-on experience building AI agents and working with Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- Ability to script, build, and edit demo videos and short-form content
- Proven experience growing or materially expanding a developer community
- Experience contributing to or maintaining open source projects
- History of speaking at major developer conferences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience with security-conscious communities or products like DevSecOps
- Contributions to MCP servers, agent frameworks, or related open source tooling
