Join the Open Source Team at 1Password to enhance developer workflows through Agent Hooks and IDE plugins. You will serve as a technical leader, owning architectural decisions and driving execution for medium-to-large projects that integrate security tools directly into development environments.
What you'll do
- Own architectural decisions and drive execution for medium-to-large projects
- Build agentic IDE integrations and extend Agent Hooks across platforms
- Identify technical opportunities and risks for the team roadmap
- Raise code quality standards and improve testing coverage
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and SDK teams to translate requirements
- Support customers and mitigate issues faced by developers
- Foster a collaborative environment through constructive feedback
What you'll need
- Significant experience delivering medium-to-large technical projects end-to-end
- Advanced command of modern development toolchains and relevant languages
- Experience designing extensible systems like IDE extensions or agent integrations
- Proven ability to set technical direction and make scalable architectural choices
- Track record of working effectively in public open source repositories
- Interest in agent-assisted development and secure tooling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder alignment
- Security-minded approach consistent with industry best practices
Nice to have
- Experience maintaining popular open source projects
- Familiarity with AI-enabled IDEs like Cursor and agent-hook ecosystems
- Background in Open Source Program Office (OSPO) functions
