Join the Patient Booking Web team to build and modernize the online experiences patients use to book appointments. You will migrate legacy systems to React, ensure high accessibility standards, and work across the stack to connect frontend features with backend services.
This role involves collaborating closely with a small team, contributing to technical architecture, and helping teammates grow through code reviews and pairing. You will handle live production environments, manage feature flags, and apply pragmatic AI tools to improve workflow efficiency.
What you'll do
- Migrate Online Booking and My Account to React while keeping the system live
- Develop full-stack features using React, TypeScript, and Rails APIs
- Ensure all builds meet accessibility standards like WCAG 2.1 AA
- Contribute to design documents and architectural planning discussions
- Resolve complex bugs in long-lived codebases with careful analysis
- Mentor teammates through pairing and detailed code reviews
- Manage safe releases using feature flags and production monitoring
- Use AI tools pragmatically to speed up migration and daily tasks
What you'll need
- At least five years of professional software building experience
- Strong hands-on expertise with React and TypeScript
- Balanced full-stack background including API and backend work
- Experience modernizing live production codebases in stages
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices and ARIA
- Proven track record with feature flags and gradual rollouts
- Clear communication style that welcomes feedback and collaboration
- Daily use of AI in coding workflows to enhance productivity
Nice to have
- Experience with Ruby on Rails
- Knowledge of Redux Toolkit for state management
- Hands-on experience with screen reader testing
- Background in building embeddable widgets for external sites
