Join the new Developer Operations team as a foundational member responsible for shaping the software delivery lifecycle. You will own GitHub end-to-end, establishing operational and security standards that make safe practices the default for over 300 developers.
The position requires driving automation and change management to ensure full compliance within twelve months. Success in this role extends the model to other tools like Jira and DataDog, improving daily workflows for the entire engineering organization.
What you'll do
- Serve as the accountable owner for GitHub across multiple organizations and 900+ repositories.
- Define and implement operational and security baselines for repository configurations.
- Build automated golden paths for branch protections, access controls, and secret scanning.
- Develop bots and dashboards to detect configuration drift and enforce compliance.
- Lead change management efforts to migrate teams to new standards with minimal friction.
- Extend automation models to other SDLC tools such as Jira, DataDog, and JFrog.
What you'll need
- Proven experience administering developer tooling at organizational scale.
- Deep expertise in GitHub Enterprise settings, rulesets, Actions, and SSO/SCIM.
- Proficiency in configuration as code using Terraform and GitHub API.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or TypeScript for automation tasks.
- Experience hosting and running tools in AWS, ideally including EKS.
- Ability to leverage AI coding tools like Claude or Cursor for automation work.
- Strong consultative skills to influence adoption without direct authority.
