LocalStack provides local cloud sandboxes for developers and AI agents, simulating cloud environments to accelerate feedback loops. As a Series A startup with clients like NASA and IBM, the team is expanding its globally distributed engineering force.
You will serve as the primary contact for cloud operations, ensuring security, governance, and reliability across a multi-account environment. This position requires deep AWS expertise and a focus on continuous compliance and infrastructure improvement.
What you'll do
- Own internal cloud infrastructure and handle operational requests
- Manage multi-account environments with security and governance best practices
- Maintain SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance continuously
- Operate identity and access management including SSO and MFA
- Monitor self-hosted services for uptime and vulnerability resolution
- Manage infrastructure costs and identify reliability risks proactively
- Collaborate with engineering to improve platform scalability
What you'll need
- Deep AWS experience at organization level including Control Tower
- Strong Infrastructure as Code skills using Terraform, CDK, or Pulumi
- Ability to evolve systems toward SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance
- Experience with IdP-backed SSO, MFA, and automated access management
- Skill in operating self-hosted internal tooling and ensuring uptime
- Proficiency in observability design and distributed on-call support
- Knowledge of cloud cost management and FinOps fundamentals
- Scripting ability in Bash, Python, or Go for tooling development
Nice to have
- Previous experience with audit or certification processes
- Knowledge of Azure for multi-cloud environment expansion
