This position requires deep expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and localization workflows. You will work remotely, managing client preferences and solving technical layout challenges while collaborating with translators and project managers.
What you'll do
- Manage DTP needs for large enterprise clients with custom layout requirements
- Monitor project-level quality to ensure adherence to operational instructions
- Collaborate with reviewers, project managers, and typesetters on deliverables
- Perform detailed QA checks to verify accuracy against client guidelines
- Communicate clearly with internal teams and clients regarding design adjustments
- Resolve font, layout, and image compatibility issues arising from translation
- Format and typeset multilingual translated content to match source files
- Pre-process files in formats like InDesign, Illustrator, Word, and PowerPoint
- Localize visual elements such as images and charts for target regions
- Organize and manage version control for multiple document iterations
- Convert files between formats while accurately restoring original designs
What you'll need
- Native proficiency in Simplified and Traditional Chinese with typography knowledge
- Basic English skills for daily communication and technical document reading
- Minimum 5 years of DTP experience in translation or localization environments
- Expert mastery of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and QuarkXPress
- Strong attention to detail in visual design and layout consistency
- Experience creating review workflows and implementing feedback loops
- Background in building DTP quality frameworks and tracking metrics
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Degree or certificate in Graphic Design, Desktop Publishing, or related field
Nice to have
- Familiarity with CAT tools like SDL Trados Studio, memoQ, or Wordfast
- Experience with Right-to-Left (RTL) languages such as Arabic
- Knowledge of non-Latin script typesetting challenges
- Experience handling multi-cultural and multi-language projects
